We have planned a 2-week trip for later this year. Can you guess where we are going based on these songs?
If you guessed France, Italy, and Greece, then you would be correct! We could not be more excited. Neither one of us have ever been to Europe before, so we are thrilled to see a part of the world we have wanted to see for a while now. And one of the best parts of the trip is that for the second week, we are meeting up with my best friend, Lauren, and her husband (who live in California). What could be better than hanging with your hubby on the beach in Greece? . . . Hanging with your husband AND you best friend and her awesome husband on the beach in Greece!
We are still finalizing the details of the trip once we get there, but we know we are going to Paris, Rome, Cinque Terre, and two islands in Greece. If you've been and have any tips or recommendations on things we have to do while we're there, please let me know!!
Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend!
that is so much fun! uhm, we are going to legoland....exciting much? LOL
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! I've been to Paris a few times and you MUST go to the big flea market (Le Puces in Saint Ouen) if you are there on a weekend. Rome is great - wear comfy shoes! We did a mediterranean cruise a few years ago - sadly it didn't go to Greece but it did go to Barcelona, Cannes, all around Italy, Venice and Croatia. What a trip! Can I come? ; )
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness that IS exciting!! My dream place to visit is Greece, especially after seeing Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. haha. But seriously. :) Congrats to y'all that's going to be so fun!
ReplyDeleteAww, Emily! How fun! I've always wanted to go there. I can't wait to hear all about it!
ReplyDeleteYou lucky girl!! I am dying to go to Greece! You will have the time of your life. I am 31 and still get family and friends wondering when I will announce my second pregnancy- not anytime soon!
ReplyDeleteWay cool! I lived in Germany for a year and was fortunate to travel throughout Europe during my time there. Ive been to Paris four times and every time I was amazed by its beauty. It will not disappoint. My only advice is to be careful in Rome. Stay alert, be careful of your surroundings, and stay in groups. I never had any problems while I was there, but it is very easy to be taken advantage of if you're not careful.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful trip!!!
Oooh, that a trip! That sounds like such a blast.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds amazing! I am Greek. I was born here in the States, but have a ton of family there, and visit often. My recommendations would be...If you stay in Athens, you must see the Acropolis. Do the walking tour during the late afternoon when it's not too hot, and stick around and do some shopping. At night, there is a fabulous restaurant at the base of the Acropolis that provides amazing views of the Parthenon all lit up. Santorini is amazing as far as islands go. Mykonos is great, but not so much for relaxing as much as it is for partying all night, but that may be your thing. Skopelos and Skiathos are also amazing islands with lots of green and great beaches as well. I've been to many islands and I must say that no matter which you choose, the beaches are amazing and nothing like anywhere else in the world! Have a great time!!! I'm jealous because it's been two years since I've been and I'm having withdrawals! :)
ReplyDeleteI live in Belgium, but I have lived in Paris for a while. You should have dinner @ Café Marly, it's the restaurant in the left wing of the Louvre. Amazing view (Louvre, Jardin de Tuileries, Eiffeltower) and very good food. If you want to visit museums: the Louvre is of course the most obvious one (make shore to order your ticket in advance) but there are 2 museums that I actually liked more: Musée d'Orangerie (you have to see Monet's Waterlily's, thats the most beautifull work I have ever seen!) and Musée D'Orsay (Manet, Cezanne, Rodin, ...). If you want more tips on the best places to go out or restaurants, feel free to contact me.
ReplyDeleteAbout Rome: there are a lot of pick pockets! Especially on public transport). But amazing city. Try to visit the Catacombes (they are scaryier than the Paris Catacombes and therefore more interesting).
If you go to Greece: the islands are beautiful, Athens is horrible. I believe it is the ugliest city I've ever seen and I travelled a lot!
Have a good trip!
How exciting!!! We honeymooned in Rome so I definitely have a couple of restaurants to suggest! I'll dig around to find the info and email it to you.
ReplyDeleteWow- how exciting! You will have a wonderful time. I have never been to Greece, but have traveled to Italy and Paris. I agree with Lisa-the Les Puces flea market in Paris is wonderful! It was so much fun. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting adventure! I have been to Paris and Rome and loved both. I agree that the catacombs in Rome are well worth the visit! I would love to visit Greece one day. Hope you have an amazing trip.
ReplyDeleteAMAZING!! you guys are going to have so much fun :)
ReplyDeleteAhh!!!!! How fun! So jealous and kinda glad you weren't announcing your pregancy after reading three blogs this week announcing theres!!!! I was starting to feel a little left out!!!! Hope you have an amazing time! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, that announcement beats the *heck* out of a pregnancy announcement *any day*! Ha! If you bring a really huge suitcase I can fit in it and come along, yes? (c: Naw, I definitely don't want to be part of your romantical getaway...besides that fact that I wasn't *actually* invited! hehehe...that is seriously a trip of a lifetime, can't wait for pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteOh! I'm so jealous! I've been to Rome (amazing), but Paris and Greece are still on my "must see" list. Can't wait for the pictures!
ReplyDeleteHi! I don't know if I've commented on your blog before, though I've been "stalking" for a while, haha. :) I knew I had to comment on this post though - my sister studied in Italy last fall and for Cinque Terre she completely recommends that you walk/hike the trail that connects all 5 towns. The last 2 trails are a little more difficult. Comfy shoes are best- though she did it in flip-flops. Her pictures are AMAZING!!! Rome - I've been to 3 times, definitely recommend the Catacombs, the Scavi tour under St. Peters (it's really neat) if you can get reservations and St. Peter's is gorgeous. The Vatican musuems you could spend a week in... and I'd recommend eating at Eau Vive - a restaurant run by missionary nuns whose mission is hospitality. The food was FABULOUS - and reasonably priced. I think you need reservations. If you are looking for great tour guides in Rome, check out johnandashley.org. They are the BEST.
ReplyDeleteYeahhhh! Love it!! We're thinking of doing Italy in October- let me know what your travel plans are, you know I love it!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the delay in emailing you back about Greece --- I'm so excited about your trip! To hear the plans, then hear when you get back!!! It's making me antsy to travel!
ReplyDeleteI was going to scream the Cinque Terre and you listed it! Rome-tour at night unbelievably beautiful. In Paris, I suggest Stephmodo and Jordan (Oh Happy Day) tour's since they both live/d in France and have extensive tour guides. I loved the Musee d'Orsay, the Rodin museum, Sacre Couer, and Notre Dame.
ReplyDeleteJealous of Greece. I am DYING to go, but we need to schedule at least 2 weeks and that is tough with the kiddo care. ENJOY!
So exciting. The hubby and I just got back. We visited Mykonos, Athens and Corfu in Greece. Mykonos was amazing. Athens is so full of history, I loved it. Corfu was nice, but I could have skipped it to see something else. Paris and Rome are just amazing, there is so much to see. Can't wait to see the pictures.
