Lip Reading.

I didn't wake up early to watch the royal wedding, but I did read about it (and of course found some pictures of Kate's and Pippa's dresses). One of the things I enjoyed reading about was the lip readers who let us in on some of the sweet moments between William and Kate. Does that make me super nosey? If so, oh well. I think part of it is being nosey, but the other part of it is because I actually enjoy trying to read people's lips. Not in a weird way -- but I find myself doing it a lot during sporting events to see what the coaches and players are saying to each other (or when they are cursing out the refs). I am not bad at it, if I do say so myself. I especially get a kick out of it when there is an f-bomb or two.

But back to the wedding . . . this was when, according to the lip readers, William told Kate that she looked beautiful. So sweet, right?

Seeing that reminded me of our wedding. I'm not sure if there were any expert lip readers at our wedding, but Justin said one of the sweetest things ever to me towards the end of our ceremony. As it was wrapping up, I told him that "it was almost over." His response was that "it was just the beginning."

Speaking of my wonderful husband, we had our first date on May 2, 1998. 13 years ago!  Do you celebrate your "dating" anniversary?

  1. Not weird at all... thank goodness for the lip readers because I was racking my brain trying to figure out what they were saying. I love her expression in this picture (It's the first time I've seen this one).

By the way, I have the biggest dog crushes on Riley and Zoey (I meant to tell you that yesterday).

  2. I loved lip reading what they were whispering. So sweet. And so cute what your hubby said to you, too! It's the moments in between that matter most (:

  3. What your husband said far outdoes anything that was said at the royal wedding. That is so wonderful, and such a good start to your life together. :)

  6. Why am I JUST hearing that sweet story? Way to go Justin! And, I think your first date was a week or so BEFORE May 2, when I made you invite him to the ball! Happy Dating Anniversary - tomorrow! Love you both. Mom

  7. It was so sweet what William said but what your husband said was so sweet as well! :)

We haven't had our first anniversary yet but we've decided we'll just celebrate our wedding anniversary from now on, instead of our dating one.

  16. I loved those sweet moments too! Especially after their kiss and you could tell Kate was just SO happy!

We do celebrate our dating anniversary! We consider that date our anniversary because it was our first kiss :) and then 6 months later (to the day) was the first time the hubs told me he loved me. Mushy mushy, haha.

  19. Oh sweet. I read an article today from a lip reader on what various members of the royal family said on Friday. It was really sweet. We don't celebrate our dating anniversary anymore-we have to remember too many dates now- kid birthdays, anniversary, etc!

  20. You think I would've noticed that since I watched the ceremony several times --- how sweet!!

Happy dating anniversary, btw! Honestly I cant remember the exact date of ours...it was the weekend after Thanksgiving 2004, but we also mark that weekend and try to have a nice date.

  21. What a sweet post! The beautiful royal wedding definitely brought back memories of my own wedding. How fun! And lip reading is something we do too! We always try to see what basketball players are yelling at other players/refs! It's fun. :)

  22. Hi! Visiting from Simple Dwellings and caught this post. I just got the chills reading what your husband said to you. That's so sweet! The best part is that you remember what he said. My wedding day was such a blur that I barely remember my husband even being there. Ha!

  24. Congrats on your dating anniversary! So fun! We don't necessarily "celebrate" ours but always acknowledge it. It is actually only a few days before our wedding anniversary so we just kind of celebrate for the whole week! May 19th is five year dating anniversary and May 23rd is 2 years married! Can't believe either!
